Not just a bed, and more than just a cabinet. The 48” and 60” Murphy bed was designed to increase the space and functionality of your van. A 5” bifold mattress seamlessly tucks behind the cavity of the bed panels when stowed, permitting for a full walk-through floor plan during the day. Couple a galley at the front end of the Murphy bed for 7ft-9ft of countertop space!
MURPHY BED DESIGN
We have put countless hours into the overall design of our murphy bed, from dimensions, material selection, features, and functionality. We wanted to create a product that fits the needs of a camper van build.
First off, we designed the 48” and 60” model Murphy beds to accommodate the use of popular “over the wheel well” water tanks”. The 48”model permits the use of a 20 gallon water tank, while the 60” permits the use of either 20, 24, or 36gallon water tanks.
Because we foresaw the benefits of a massive countertop, redesigned the Murphy bed to be 36” tall, which is a standard height for galley cabinets after countertop finishing.
Wewanted to offerplentyof storage in our Murphy bed. We included a total of 8 storage doors, 2 utility doors, and a heavy duty shelf thatch either be used for stowing cargo, or as a a hub for power and hydronic heating systems.
Lastly, we designed the bed panels to operate independently from one of another, to allow the user options to leave one panel stowed and one panel deployed, both stowed, or both deployed.

MURPHY BED COMPATIBILITY
The Murphy bed is designed to work on the Mercedes Sprinter Chassis. The bed has about 2” of adjustability in order to function properly, depending on the floor height and wall thickness of your build. Our Murphy bed was designed around 1/4 thick wall panels, and floors ranging from 3/4” to 1 1/2” (AMF bruns Smartfloor).
